Athens in mid-June falls into a predictable heat cycle that shapes every decision you make. Mornings start around 23-25°C by 8am, the limestone of the Acropolis hill already warm underfoot. Early site visits before 10am, long lunch indoors between 1 and 5pm, then the city restarts around 6pm when shadows finally stretch across Monastiraki Square. That means no backup plan needed, but it also means you need water and a hat before 9am, not after you already feel the heat.
