How We Make Money
Affiliate commissions. When someone books a tour, grabs an eSIM, or reserves a hotel through a link on our site, we earn a percentage. You pay the same price whether you use our link or go direct.
No display ads. No sponsored content. No selling user data. Affiliate commissions from bookings keep the site running. We disclose everything in our affiliate disclosure.
How Content Is Created
There is room in the market for a new kind of travel guide because it has become clear that the old way of doing things is no longer "good enough." Large language models like Anthropic Claude or ChatGPT can now provide reasonable content tailed to a users specific request in almost an instant. What is missing is a ground truth that TTDI.net aims to provide. Our guides combine human curated public data with AI-assisted writing, followed by human review and editing. We pull from OpenStreetMap, official tourism boards, event databases, weather services, and more in a using a proprietary collection and collation process.
Gear reviews are different. Those are written by hand from start to finish, based on products we actually own and use. No AI generation, no pay-for-play.
Editorial Independence
Rankings are determined by quality, not by who pays us. If a neighborhood is overrated, we say so. If a product is bad, we say that too. Affiliate partnerships never influence what we recommend or how we rate it.
