Women solo report Kaleiçi and the Konyaaltı beach promenade as comfortable until about midnight in summer. The stretch along Atatürk Caddesi between the two areas feels safe into late evening. Avoid the backstreets behind the otogar and the industrial zone east of the D400 highway near Kepez after dark. Verbal catcalling increases in July and August when the city's population roughly doubles with domestic tourists. Most women report that not responding works best.
