Mid-June through August gives Lidingö its best conditions. Nearly 19 hours of daylight, temperatures around 18-23°C, and the waterfront paths at Elfvik are warm enough for swimming by late July. September is worth considering for the Lidingöloppet cross-country race. November through February brings about 6 hours of weak daylight and temperatures near freezing.

Skip driving to Lidingö. Parking near Millesgården fills by 10am in summer, and the Lidingöbanan tram from Ropsten T-bana takes 12 minutes. Avoid visiting Millesgården on Mondays (closed year-round). Don't expect central-Stockholm dining variety. The island is residential, with limited restaurants outside the Centrum area around Lidingö Centrum station.
