Lidingö is the kind of island where a café is rarely just a café — it is a lanthandel attached to a sculpture park, a bistro inside a working farmstead, a kiosk on a swimming pier, a Saturday-only shed at the end of a gravel road. The twelve below are the ones worth the bus ride across Lidingöbron. They cluster in three loose bands: the western end near Herserudsvägen, where Millesgården pulls the day-trip crowd; the suburban spine around Pyrolavägen and the old town; and the long eastern stretch out toward Elfvik and the archipelago shore, where opening hours shrink to weekends and the coffee comes with a view of grazing cattle. None of these are speciality-coffee theatres chasing a third-wave aesthetic — Lidingö doesn't have the foot traffic for that.
