Lagos does not have a cafe culture in the European sense, and it is more interesting for that. None of them are chasing the tourist. Read this as a shortlist for the visitor who wants to spend an hour off the main circuit, watch the room fill with people who work nearby, and leave with a better sense of how Lagos moves through its day. Bring cash for the small orders and expect the traffic between islands and mainland to eat more of your afternoon than the menu will.
