That afternoon wind is what fills Hadicurari with kitesurfers every single day. If you're a first-timer, those 3 morning hours are the best beach time you'll get all day on Palm Beach. Afternoons work better for the pool, for snorkeling near Malmok, or for heading inland.

The one recurring weekly event worth planning around is the Bon Bini Festival at Fort Zoutman in Oranjestad, which has run on Tuesday evenings for years. The fort is an 18th-century coastal fortification on the downtown waterfront. For something closer to local prices, the snack bars along Caya G.F. Those spots are busiest at lunch on weekdays. Casinos at the Stellaris and the Hyatt open nightly, but Friday and Saturday draw bigger crowds, and the noise level rises after 11pm.
