When's the best time to visit Palm Beach in 2026?

Palm Beach sits on Aruba's dry northwest coast, and the island receives 450 mm of rain a year. Weather rarely decides the trip: price and wind do. From the week after Easter to mid-June, rooms at the Hyatt Regency and the Ritz-Carlton tend to fall from US$700-plus at New Year to somewhere near US$350 to US$450. The east-northeast trade wind usually blows at 20 to 30 km/h, and the sea off the piers stays near 27°C, warm as bathwater at your ankles. At 9am in May you can still find a free palapa at the north end of the beach, the dry fronds rattling overhead and the sand cool enough to walk on barefoot until about 10:30. Our pick is May. It has the best balance of price, sun and elbow room on the strip.

Mid-December to mid-April is high season, and Palm Beach feels it: loungers in front of the high-rises are often claimed with towels by 7:30am, and dinner tables along J.E. Irausquin Boulevard need booking a day ahead. Carnival is the one reason to accept all that. The Grand Parade rolls through Oranjestad on the Sunday before Ash Wednesday, which in 2027 falls on 7 February, and steel pan and brass bands play loud enough to rattle your ribs from three blocks away near Fort Zoutman. If winter is your only window, aim for the second and third weeks of January, when New Year rates have reset and the Carnival crush has not started.

July and August bring US and European school holidays, so rates climb again, though not to December levels. The wind is strongest in June and July, and the Aruba Hi-Winds event at Hadicurari, by the Fisherman's Huts north of the strip, usually runs in early July. Kitesurfers love it. Readers on the sand do not, since gusts send grit stinging across your shins. September and October are the hottest, calmest months, with afternoons near 33°C and air that feels thick and salty, though the calm seas make Boca Catalina and Arashi Beach the clearest snorkelling of the year.

Aruba sits south of the main Atlantic hurricane track, so direct hits are rare, but October to December brings most of the year's rain, falling in 20-minute bursts that smell of wet dust and turn Arikok National Park briefly green. November is the wettest month, though most days stay sunny past noon even then. The Aruban florin is pegged at 1.79 to the US dollar, and nearly every Palm Beach hotel, restaurant and tour operator quotes in dollars, which makes seasonal prices straightforward to compare across the year. A May room on the high-rise strip often costs about half the New Year rate for the same view.
