Pattaya stretches along the eastern Gulf coast in a rough crescent, and the neighborhood you sleep in determines which version of the city you get. The northern reach around Naklua still moves at a fishing-village tempo; the center packs neon, songthaews, and late-night noise into a few dense blocks along Beach Road and Second Road; the southern curve past Phra Tamnak Hill opens into Jomtien's longer, quieter sand. For budget travelers, high-scoring rooms from $16 to $50 a night spread across every neighborhood below, and the price gap between the rowdy center and the calm edges is narrower than it looks. What changes is the walk: the transit at your door, the food on your block, the noise floor after midnight, and whether the neighborhood serves the traveler you are or the one the brochure imagines.
