Hohensalzburg Fortress, not the Mozart museums. The 1077 fortress sits 120 metres above the Altstadt on Festungsberg, and from its Reckturm watchtower you can see into Bavaria. Take the Festungsbahn funicular from Festungsgasse. The Mozart house on Getreidegasse is worth an hour, but the fortress is the thing that makes Salzburg Salzburg.
