Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 29, 2026
This is the privacy policy for ttdi.net and the network of destination travel guide websites we publish under the ThingsToDoIn name. It tells you what we collect, why, and how to make us stop. We've kept it short and concrete because long policies are how companies hide things.
1. What we collect when you visit
When you load a page on ttdi.net or any of our destination sites, our servers and a few standard third parties automatically record some technical information:
- Your IP address, browser type, operating system, and device
- Which pages you opened, when, and what referred you to us
- How long you stayed and roughly where you scrolled
None of that requires you to identify yourself, and we don't try to identify you from it.
2. What we collect when you subscribe to our newsletter
If you sign up for the travel digest, we record:
- The email address you typed
- The site you signed up from (so we can send you relevant content for that destination)
- The exact subscribe text we showed you, plus a version stamp, so we can prove what you agreed to
- An anonymized fingerprint of your IP at signup time (HMAC-hashed so we can't reverse it back to your real IP) for fraud detection
We send you a confirmation email and we do not add you to anything until you click the link in it. You can unsubscribe in one click from any email we send. When you unsubscribe, we stop sending and we keep a record of the unsubscribe so we don't accidentally re-add you.
3. How we use what we collect
- To make the sites work and to make them better
- To send you the newsletter you subscribed to, when you subscribe
- To track affiliate clicks so partners pay us correctly when you book through one of our links
- To detect abuse and spam
4. Third parties we use
- Google Analytics for site-usage stats, configured to anonymize IPs at collection
- Mailgun as our email-sending and bounce-handling provider for newsletter mail
- Cloudflare for DNS, DDoS protection, and edge caching
- Affiliate partners, including Viator, GetYourGuide, World Nomads, SafetyWing, JetoGo, Trip.com, and others, when you click a link in our content. Those partners have their own privacy policies; we don't see your activity on their sites beyond the click that lands you there.
5. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies. Most are first-party and set by Google Analytics for visitor counting. A few affiliate partners set their own cookies when you click their tracked links so they can credit us for the referral. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time; our sites will still work fine.
6. Sharing your data
We don't sell, rent, or trade your information. We only share what we have to with the providers above to make the sites and the newsletter run, and with law enforcement if a valid legal request requires it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights including:
- Asking what we hold about you
- Asking us to correct or delete it
- Asking us to stop processing it
- Asking us to send you a copy in a portable format
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at [email protected] from the email you'd like to ask about. We'll act on the request within 30 days.
8. Data security
We use HTTPS everywhere, encrypted backups, and HMAC-hashed identifiers instead of plaintext IPs in our subscriber records. Nothing on the internet is perfectly secure, but we make a serious effort.
9. Children
Our sites are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, write to us and we'll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top and post a note in the next newsletter. Material changes that affect what you previously agreed to will trigger a re-confirmation request.
11. Who we are
The ttdi.net network is published by Gotoh Industries LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. Send anything privacy-related to [email protected].
